Loches: A unique secondary school programme in France
For a truly integrated French language learning experience during your Transition Year, consider Stein Study’s secondary school programme at Saint Denis International School located in the beautiful town of Loches. This course can be taken for a short period of time (2 weeks) or for a longer period of time (up to 10 months). It is an ideal way to study abroad during your TY, learning French in France.
St Denis school
This International school takes in just 30 international students at a time to study alongside the 880 local French students at the school. This unique set up means that the international students benefit from learning the French language in a fully French environment. Whereas our other secondary school programmes involve learning a range of subjects with local students, this course at St Denis differs as you will only be studying French. With 25 hours of intensive French language classes each week, you will quickly improve your French language skills. And as you will be at a school with over 800 local French students, there is also plenty of opportunity to mix and socialise with local students to practice your language skills.
The accommodation set up offers students further opportunity to practice their language skills. International students reside in the boarding residence of the school during the week and with a host family at the weekends and during the short holidays. At the school, students will share a room with 2 French students (of same gender and similar age). This is a great way to make French speaking friends.
Loches is a river-side medieval town steeped in history. Located in the Loire valley region of France with rich country side, forests, streams, cycle paths and trails; it truly is a beautiful location to live and study and offers a calm and safe environment for teenagagers. At weekends, international students stay with local host families which provides them with opportunities to see the local town and surrounding area.
