Course Summary

15 Students

13 - 50 year olds

Our partners at the F+U Academy in Heidelberg provide tutoring, accommodation and activity programmes of the highest standard to international students. There are twenty German lessons per week included in the intensive German course. These highly interactive classes are taught by exceptional tutors in a stimulating environment. Through a combination of conversational group work and lesson plans dedicated to German vocabulary, students will notice a huge improvement in their overall confidence and fluency. Before this trip, students will take a language level test to determine their individual ability. This ensures that your individual needs are met during class and that you learn alongside peers of a similar language level. Through focusing on your overall German comprehension and expression, you will develop the skills to speak German confidently both during class and in everyday scenarios.

Securing safe and comfortable accommodation is a key element in creating a positive experience for students studying abroad. The dedicated team at F+U Academy thoroughly vet all host families before placing students to ensure they are suitably matched. Your welcoming German host family will live between five and thirty minutes from the language school in Heidelberg’s centre where you will attend classes. Students will be provided with half board and can have lunch at school. Depending on the host family, you can request a double or single room.

Students aged seventeen and over can also opt to stay in the self-catering student residence close to the Heidelberg language school. Here you can share a room with another student or request a single room.

Curfew for all students is 10 pm from Sunday to Thursdays and 12 am on Fridays and Saturdays. We understand that each student’s needs are unique so should you have any special requirements or food allergies, please do not hesitate to inform us at the point of booking.

School Introduction Video

Students can opt to stay between one and four weeks.

You can fly out any Sunday of the year and start classes the next day.

Students will stay with a previously vetted host family or in the F+U student residences close to the language school where they will attend classes.

Transfer between the airport and your accommodation is provided on arrival and departure for a surcharge (see price list).

While half board is provided in the home stay accommodation option, the student residence is self-catering. You’ll need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.

Having a foundation of conversational German is beneficial to students going on any of our language courses but even less advanced students will see their fluency flourish in a short space of time during this immersive experience.

You’ll need to arrange your own flights. But we are happy to help advise you on the most direct route.

Students can opt to share a room with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. Staying with a student who you didn’t know before your trip is a great way to widen your circle of friends while getting the chance to practice your language skills with new people.
