Securing safe and comfortable accommodation is a key element in creating a positive experience for students studying abroad. The dedicated team at F+U Academy thoroughly vet all host families before placing students to ensure they are suitably matched. Your welcoming German host family will live between five and thirty minutes from the language school in Heidelberg’s centre where you will attend classes. Students will be provided with half board and can have lunch at school. Depending on the host family, you can request a double or single room. Curfew for all students is 10 PM from Sunday to Thursdays and 12 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. We understand that each student’s needs are unique so should you have any special requirements or food allergies, please do not hesitate to inform us at the point of booking.

School Introduction Video

Transfer between the airport and your accommodation is provided on arrival and departure for a surcharge (see price list).

Students will stay with a previously vetted host family close to the language school where they will attend classes. Students over seventeen can choose to stay in the student residence close to the language school either.

You can fly out any Sunday of the year and start classes the next day.

Students can opt to stay between one and four weeks.

Students can opt to share a room with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. Staying with a student who you didn’t know before your trip is a great way to widen your circle of friends while getting the chance to practice your language skills with new people.

Having a foundation of conversational German is beneficial to students going on any of our language courses but even less advanced students will see their fluency flourish in a short space of time during this immersive experience.

While half board is provided in host family accommodation, the student residence is self-catering. You’ll also need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.

You’ll need to arrange your own flights. But we are happy to help advise you on the most direct route.
