Course Summary

12 Students

16 - 18 year olds

We are affiliated with an excellent Italian language school in Florence called Scuola Leonardo da Vinci. The tutors at this fantastic school provide Italian tutoring of the highest standard to international students in a stimulating and interactive environment.

There are twenty-five Italian lessons included in this Leaving Certificate Preparation Trip. Twenty of these are group lessons during which you will develop your Italian fluency through focusing on your written and oral comprehension and expression. Students will also be taught Italian grammar, vocabulary and syntax by tutors who use engaging methods to ensure you find this course enjoyable as well as educational.

The remaining five classes are taught in a one-to-one setting with your tutor. During these, you will focus solely on the Italian Leaving Certificate syllabus to prepare you to confidently sit your written and oral exams.

Outside of class, you’ll be completely immersed in the Italian culture as you take part in group activities and sightseeing. This total exposure to the local language is a fantastic way to embrace practising Italian in everyday situations as you interact with native-speakers.

School Introduction Video

This trip kicks off on the 4th of June.

Students will stay with a warm and welcoming host family a short distance from the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci language school where you’ll take classes. Your friendly host family have been previously assessed by the dedicated staff at the language school and will provide you with safe and comfortable accommodation during your stay.

Students can opt to stay for two or three weeks. If you book a two week trip but want to extend your stay while you’re there, that’s no problem.

Transfer between the airport and your host family’s home is provided on arrival and departure.

You need to arrange your own flights. But we will provide you with the details you need regarding the airline you travel with, the flight number and flight times of your outgoing and return journeys to ensure you travel with your Group Leaders and fellow students.

No. A foundation of conversational Italian is helpful but this immersive experience will hugely benefit your fluency.

While half board is provided, you’ll need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.

Students can opt to share a room with friends or will be placed with another student. Staying with a student you don’t know is a great way to widen your circle of friends while practising your language skills.
