Course Summary

9 Students

16 - 18 year olds

Students will attend fifteen or twenty Spanish classes a week in the recently renovated and modern campus of the excellent Colegio Maravillas language school in Benalmadena. The qualified and experienced tutors tailor the lesson plans to ensure students develop a passion for the language while they improve their overall fluency.

Over the course of this trip for fifth years, you’ll improve your overall written and oral comprehension and expression. Tutors use stimulating and interactive methods and multimedia class resources to help you gain confidence in speaking Spanish, rather than just memorising key phrases. As well as the standard fifteen classes, students can opt to take five Leaving Certificate preparation courses per week. These focus solely on preparing you to confidently sit your oral and written Spanish exams in sixth year.

You’ll have plenty of opportunity to practice outside of class too. Speaking Spanish during activities and excursions as well as in your free time is the best way to fully embrace this immersive language course.

To ensure that students have a positive experience while studying abroad we understand the importance of safe and comfortable accommodation located close to the language school. Colegio Maravillas previously assess all host families to guarantee that they are fully able to meet each student’s requirements. Here you will be provided with all meals and can share a double room with a friend. Plenty of our students travel alone and we are happy to place you with another student either. Staying with a host family is a great way to fully embrace the local language and culture as you practice your conversation skills with them. You will notice a natural improvement in your fluency as you speak with your host family in a non formal setting on a daily basis.

School Introduction Video

You have two choices: the 9th of April or the 4th of June.

Students will stay with a welcoming host family who live a short distance from the Colegio Maravillas language school. Each host family is previously vetted by the school staff.

You’ll need to arrange your own flights. But we will provide you with the details needed regarding the airline you’ll travel with, the flight number and flight times of your outgoing and return journeys to ensure you travel with your Group Leaders and fellow students.

Transfer between the airport and your host family’s home is provided on arrival and departure.

Having a foundation of conversational Spanish is beneficial to students going on any of our language courses but even less advanced students will see their fluency flourish in a short space of time during this immersive experience.

While all meals are provided, you’ll need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.

Students can opt to stay for two or three weeks. If you book a two week trip but want to extend your stay while you’re there, that’s no problem.

Students can opt to share a room with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. Staying with a student who you didn’t know before your trip is a great way to widen your circle of friends while getting the chance to practice your language skills with new people.
