Description

We are proud to be affiliated with the superb Lacunza International House language school in San Sebastian. As an IALC accredited body, Lacunza are part of a community of language schools who uphold high standards in their teaching practices, values and the provision of accommodation. The experienced tutors at this school use stimulating and interactive methods to ensure students improve their comprehension and expression of Spanish rather than simply memorising key phrases. There are twenty Spanish classes per week included in this course. These are taught in small groups using engaging multimedia resources. As this is a trip for students preparing for sixth year, you can also opt for an additional five Leaving Certificate preparation classes. These will focus solely on the Leaving Certificate Spanish syllabus with the aim to leave you feeling confident ahead of sitting your oral and written Spanish exams. You can also avail of one to one lessons with your tutor for a surcharge of €40  per class. These allow your tutor to thoroughly assess your progress and pay greater attention to your personal needs. An equally important element of this trip is speaking Spanish outside of class too. During activities and excursions you’ll speak with friends, group leaders and tutors in Spanish. During this time, you’ll notice your fluency naturally improves as you gain confidence speaking Spanish both in class and in your free time.

If you are travelling alone we can place you with another student. All meals are provided by your host family. If you have any food allergies or accommodation preferences, please inform us at the point of booking so we can ensure these requirements are met.

School Introduction Video

You can fly out on Sunday the 4th of June from Dublin airport with your group leaders and other group members.

Students will stay with a welcoming host family who live a short distance from the Lacunza language school. Each host family is previously vetted by the school staff.

Transfer between the airport and your host family’s home is provided on arrival and departure.

Students can opt to stay for two or three weeks. If you book a two week trip but want to extend your stay while you’re there, that’s no problem.

Having a foundation of conversational Spanish is beneficial to students going on any of our language courses but even less advanced students will see their fluency flourish in a short space of time during this immersive experience.

You’ll need to arrange your own flights. But we will provide you with the details needed regarding the airline you’ll travel with, the flight number and flight times of your outgoing and return journeys to ensure you travel with your Group Leaders and fellow students.

While all meals are provided, you’ll need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.

Students can opt to share a room with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. Staying with a student who you didn’t know before your trip is a great way to widen your circle of friends while getting the chance to practice your language skills with new people.
